Roman Catholics find love, community with-gasp!-Lutherans

Take it from countless couples in ELCA pews, for a variety of reasons the Lutheran church is a good fit for former Roman Catholics.

The Lutheran asked couples of mixed religious backgrounds (particularly Lutheran-Roman Catholic) what drew them to the ELCA and what, if any, adjustments were made.

Decades ago, Lutheran-Roman Catholic marriages were less common and less acceptable. For reasons both secular and spiritual, today’s churches have a greater mix. Jonathan and Maria Lull, Redeemer Lutheran Church, Orlando, Fla., say Martin Luther might approve.
