No choice for clergy kids

Leaders of the Protestant Reformed Churches of America, a breakaway of the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Christian Reformed Church, voted in August at its annual meeting to require denomination-affiliated school attendance for children of clergy and officeholders. The issue was under consideration since 2007, when a Grand Rapids pastor was fired after his congregation became divided over his children being homeschooled. Formed in 1924, the denomination represents 7,630 members and is affiliated with 15 schools, including four elementary, one high school and one theological school near Grand Rapids.
