To meet a 5 percent shortfall in its $138 million budget, an evangelical Colorado Springs, Colo., ministry founded by religious broadcaster James Dobson, said Sept. 2 it would cut staff by 8 percent to 860 people. Focus on the Family , which at one time had a staff of 1,400, already had cut 200 positions in November 2008.
