Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services merged with Good Shepherd Communities Sept. 1. Now named Bethesda Lutheran Communities, it will be headquartered in Watertown, Wis., where Bethesda was founded in 1904. Bethesda provides services to 2,000 individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the U.S. and offers support in international locations including Romania, Latvia, Russia, Kenya, Tanzania and the Dominican Republic. Adding “Communities” to its name recognizes the legacy of Good Shepherd Communities, said CEO John E. Bauer.
