Tractors filled the parking lot of Nordland Lutheran, Paynesville, Minn., one Saturday morning in July for the congregation’s first Guys in the Basement Antique Tractor Run. The 18-mile ride through rolling farmland not only celebrated the congregation’s rural heritage but raised money for the local food shelf. Asked if this would be an annual event, one driver responded, “I don’t think we can take that kind of pressure, we’ll wait and see what happens next year.”
