Court: Monument breaks law

A federal appeals court ruled that the recent erection of a Ten Commandments monument on the courthouse grounds in a small Oklahoma county was unconstitutional. The court ruling held that the monument’s placement would lead a “reasonable observer” in the community to find that it reflected “government endorsement of religion.” The monument had been paid for with private donations.
