Rite sought for gays

Episcopal bishops from the six states that have legalized same-sex marriage are requesting permission to adapt their church’s prayer book for use at same-sex weddings.

The proposal presents a challenge to the Episcopal Church as it seeks to balance respect for gay rights with some fellow Anglicans’ condemnation of homosexuality.

The request from bishops in Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont were to be debated at the Episcopal Church’s General Convention in mid-July.

What's the problem?  You've already tossed the Bible out the window.  Go ahead and rewrite your prayer book too!
