Wayne N. Miller, bishop of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod, and Ndanganei Phaswana, bishop of the Central Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (the synod’s companion), joined more than 100 others June 7 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wheaton, Ill., to “lead by example” in being screened for HIV.
St. Paul worked with the DuPage County Health Department and Mosaic Initiative, a nonprofit devoted to prevention of HIV/AIDS.
The church will host additional screenings, hoping for 100 percent participation of the congregation.
