Two seminaries of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) branched out to find new leaders, one appointing a Roman Catholic nun as dean and the other naming a prominent evangelical as president.
Elizabeth Liebert, dean of San Francisco Theological, is the first nun to lead a PCUSA seminary, according to the school.
In Decatur, Ga., Columbia Theological Seminary appointed Stephen Hayner as president. From 1988 to 2001, he was president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, an evangelical campus ministry.
