Canada's Lutherans hopeful

Today, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada has roughly 24 percent fewer baptized members than at its formation in 1986, Bishop Susan C. Johnson told delegates to the denomination’s National Convention June 25-28 in Vancouver.

Despite membership and financial decreases, Johnson said she sees hope in current restructuring and partnership efforts, which could include joint administration of the ELCIC and ELCA Global Mission programs.
