ELCA saves money on health care

The ELCA saved $167,000 this year on health benefits costs because of discounts from the ELCA Board of Pensions.

Synods, seminaries and other churchwide ministries can earn 2 percent discounts on health contributions when 75 percent of their respective employees and spouses, who receive ELCA-primary health benefits, complete an online Mayo Clinic Health Assessment.

By June, six seminaries and one synod reached the 75 percent mark and earned discounts.
