Pakistan’s Christian minority (200 to 300 families) in the Swat Valley say they face not only the region’s current humanitarian crisis but also the “tremendous pressure” to convert to Islam.
ELCA partners such as Action By Churches Together International and Church World Service are working with international agencies to provide emergency relief, as more than 1.5 million people have been displaced by fighting between government forces and Taliban and al-Qaeda insurgents.
