A Presbyterian seminary in partnership with the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago is pursuing an “orderly disengagement” from the real estate portion of the relationship, said LSTC President James Kenneth Echols.
McCormick Theological Seminary’s disengagement could take place as soon as June 2010.
An LSTC financial task force is developing plans for potential partnerships and building configurations.
Echols said LSTC “will always give thanks for the partnership” that began in 1975, and “regrets the strained financial circumstances that have led McCormick to make its decision.”
