Confronted with a shortage of full-time clergy, Church of Scotland leaders are considering “virtual ministers” for 190 congregations.
The real, live preachers would be ported into other congregations via videoconferencing technology.
Trevor Hunt, a pastor in Orkney, told The Scotsman newspaper the plan had “potential” but requires members to participate, rather than passively view a TV program.
