Reformed merger

Two global bodies, the World Alliance of Reformed Churches and the Reformed Ecumenical Council will merge in 2010 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The new World Communion of Reformed Churches will unite 75 million Congregational, Presbyterian, Reformed and United church members worldwide.

Clifton Kirkpatrick, WARC president, said the “true test” of the union “will be how it enhances and strengthens our commitment to economic and ecological justice.”
