Lutherans and Episcopalians signed an intercommunion agreement April 3 in Quito, Ecuador.
After the signing, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ecuador and the Episcopal Diocese of Central Ecuador celebrated communion at a Quito church that includes a Spanish-speaking Lutheran congregation, a German-speaking Lutheran congregation, and an English-speaking, Episcopal-led ecumenical congregation.
In his sermon, Felipe Adolf, pastor of the Spanish-speaking congregation, called the agreement “one more step toward the concretization of fraternity,”
