More than 200 interreligious youth from six countries gathered April 3-18 for the Kenya Youth Peace Summit in Nairobi.
Organized by the Kenya Evangelical Lutheran Church and sponsored by the ELCA, the summit responded to the violence that followed Kenya’s 2007 presidential elections and addressed such issues as unemployment.
Youth planted trees for peace, led a peace procession through the city, and learned proposal writing, goal-setting and more.
