Many communities and congregations are overwhelmed — even fractured — by issues of immigration, according to Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.
LIRS launched the “Be Not Afraid” program to help in such situations and to head off future problems.
Pilot projects are under way in Los Angeles; Tampa, Fla.; Austin and Albert Lea, Minn.; New Jersey; Long Island, N.Y.; and Houston.
