Despite the economy, 57 percent of actively religious donors plan to give the same or more to charity in 2009 as they did last year, says a survey by Chicago-based Cygnus Applied Research.
More than a quarter of these donors said they made commitments before the economy worsened and intended to stick with them.
About a quarter said “it was too soon to tell” how much they would give in 2009 and 17 percent plan to give less.
