South Carolina Lutherans will join in a statewide service blitz on May 2.
Volunteers will show up at nursing homes, shelters, food banks and other sites to paint, do yard work and home repair, assemble health kits for the homeless and more.
The South Carolina Synod, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod Southeastern District are event sponsors.
It unites Operation Inasmuch, which mobilizes Christians to serve their communities, with Join Hands Day, which connects youth and adults in volunteer service.
