Music to raise the dead

Resurrection Band one of the unknown greats

Led Zeppelin. Aerosmith. The Rolling Stones. Nowadays these bands are called classic rock. For better or worse, their music provided a soundtrack for many of our lives. By all rights, Resurrection Band should be on that list, too, though you may not have heard of them.

Glenn and Wendi Kaiser formed Resurrection Band in Chicago in 1972. The group churned out classic rock albums for more than 25 years.

Unfortunately, their identification as a Christian band kept them from getting played on mainstream radio stations and their hard rock sound was deemed too worldly for Christian radio.

But these days, religious and secular critics agree: They were one of the best rock bands around and millions of people who would have loved their music never got the chance to hear it.
