Ishmael Noko, general secretary of the Lutheran World Federation, called Jana Jeruma-Grinberga’s Jan. 17 consecration as bishop of the Lutheran Church in Great Britain “a sign that ordination is for all the baptized, who are called through the church.”
Jeruma-Grinberga, the first woman to head the church, succeeds Walter A. Jagucki, who began serving in 2000.
