Taking the plunge

Steven Kinderman<BR><BR>About a dozen members of University Lutheran Church, the ELCA campus ministry presence at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, were among 670 participants of Polar Plunge 2009, a fundraiser for Wisconsin Special Olympics.

On a day when air temperatures struggled to reach 20 degrees, nearly $100,000 was raised as groups took turns leaping into 3 feet of 32-degree water.
