Norway's emissions

Lutherans in Norway called for a five-year moratorium on oil and gas exploration on the country’s continental shelf in the North Sea — an idea rejected by labor union leaders as it could affect thousands of jobs.

Church of Norway Bishop Tor B. Joergensen of Soer-Haalogaland (Bodoe) said the country must not increase emissions from the oil industry if it “is to work for a more just global climate agreement.”
