More to be nuclear-free?

According to a World Council of Churches news release, interfaith leaders are pushing more governments to ratify a nuclear-free zone agreement.

It is expected that signatories will increase from 56 to 110 in 2009.

“The commitment of world religions to shared security means bringing governments to make good on their promise to free the world of nuclear weapons,” said Soritua Nababan, WCC president for Asia, who is among the ecumenical leaders pushing for the agreements.
