Bishop Wolfgang Huber, chair of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) Council, said he is open to talking with Josef Ackermann, CEO of Deutsche Bank, Germany’s largest bank, after calling bankers greedy.
On Dec. 24, Huber said in an interview that German bankers have a “culture of greed,” and accused Ackermann, who is Swiss, of turning money-making into a form of “idolatry.”
The EKD is a Lutheran World Federation member church body.
