After an international outcry followed the reinstatement of an excommunicated Roman Catholic bishop who denied the genocide of Jews, Pope Benedict XVI warned against denial of the Holocaust.
“Nobody can deny the Shoah,” he said.
One of four bishops reinstated, British-born Richard Williamson was excommunicated 21 years ago for opposing the reforms of the Second Vatican Council.
The outcry came after Williamson said in an interview that he believed no Jews were sent to gas chambers.
