Lutheran aid for Congo

ELCA members donated $75,000 Jan. 8 to provide food, safe water and counseling to people displaced by civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

With the onset of the rainy season, displaced families and individuals risk hunger, cholera, malaria and other diseases, said Megan Bradfield, ELCA associate director for international development and disaster response.

Millions are estimated to be displaced throughout the embattled country.
