In January, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams and Archbishop of York John Sentamu condemned the British Broadcasting Corp.’s decision to not air a charity appeal for food and medicine aid to Gaza.
“This is not an appeal by Hamas asking for arms but by the Disasters Emergency Committee asking for relief,” Sentamu said.
“By declining their request, the BBC has already taken sides and forsaken impartiality.” Mark Thompson, BBC director general, said airing the appeal would appear to be “backing one side” over the other.
