'Once A Month' help for Zambia

Audrey C. Burkart, a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ridgefield, N.J., also belongs to the Zonta Club of Northern Valley, N.J., an international group dedicated to improving the status of women.

The club became aware that Zambian girls can’t attend school during their menstrual periods because they don’t have sanitary products.

Remaining at home opens them to physical abuse and contributes to the dropout rate.

Zion decided to help by collecting products for the club’s “Once a Month” campaign.
