Bethlehem tourism up

Visitors to Bethlehem increased by 96.5 percent in the first nine months of 2008, compared to the same period in 2007, according to the Israeli Civil Administration.

The West Bank, Jericho—famous for Jesus’ story of the good Samaritan—experienced a 42.3 percent increase in visitors in the same period, reports the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
