Lutherans, Reformed talk mission

Dr. Elizabeth Huwiler, an Old Testament professor at Lutheran Seminary of Philadelphia, told participants at a joint Lutheran-Reformed consultation on mission to think of our partnership as the kind of relationship described in The Song of Solomon. Some 70 pastors, seminary professors and church executives from the ELCA, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Reformed Church in America and the United Church of Christ met Oct. 3-5 at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, to dicuss closer cooperation in Christian education, social ministry, evangelism, local ministries and multicultural ministry. Huwiler taught at a UCC seminary for nine years.
