Tents of hope

ELCA congregations, ecumenical partners, community and school groups gathered Nov. 7-9 at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to draw attention to genocide in Sudan.

Youth painted tents, slept in them and showed movies about Sudan on sides of tents. It was the culmination of a yearlong education, advocacy and fundraising effort, said Gretchen King, Lutheran World Relief.
