Julius D. Paul, bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malaysia, died Nov. 22 when a tour boat capsized in Guatemala.
Paul, 63, was attending a meeting of the Lutheran World Federation Standing Committee for World Service , which he chaired.
He was due to retire in July 2010.
