Ukrainian’s Roman Catholics welcomed a promise by local authorities to return a Soviet-confiscated church in Dnipropetrovsk, a year after a U.S.-based firm bought it for conversion into a casino.
“The regional government has offered the company an alternative site,” said Oleg Kovyniov, a church spokesperson.
“If enough manpower and resources are made available, the church should be back in use within a year.”
