Congolese fear hunger

In the eastern part of Democratic Republic of Congo, thousands of families who opened their homes to fleeing strangers are now stretching their meager resources.

Aid agencies warn that although the displaced don’t appear to be immediately at risk of malnutrition and disease (unlike those in refugee camps), they push to the limit the means of host families.

Action by Churches Together, an ELCA partner, is helping in the region.
