Schools join to create leaders

Wagner College, Staten Island, N.Y., and the Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia are cooperating to educate and train people of color for ordination in the ELCA.

Through the Upsala at Wagner College Program/Lutheran Partnership, each school pays a student’s tuition, room and board, and books.

At the end of the eight-year period of study and internship, students can earn bachelor of arts and master of divinity degrees.

Pastors and congregations recommend students, who must meet synodical candidacy requirements and each school’s entrance requirements. Limited openings are available each year.

Contact Wagner at 718-390-3226.
