At the end of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church’s property in Junction City, Kan., is a small wooded area used for meditation.
On the remaining land, adults like Norma Neal (right) and children (Olivia and Abigail Ida are shown here) work side-by-side in a Charity Garden, with the harvest going to local charities.
Families take turns tending it, and older members cheer gardeners on and pray for growth.
Despite too much rain and not enough sun this year, the church sent more than 1,000 pounds of produce to charities.
