After massive flooding along the Kosi river in Bihar, India, left 2.5 million people homeless, the Lutheran World Federation and India’s United Evangelical Lutheran Church began planning their response in northern India.
In Bihar more than 120,000 people were evacuated, even from areas formerly considered flood safe, and 106 relief camps are providing emergency aid.
The floods first affected people in Nepal, leaving 50,000 homeless.
