Just in time for November elections, a study by Pew Research Center found that most Americans believe churches should stay out of politics.
And that includes a rising number of conservatives—50 percent compared to 30 percent in 2004.
Still, 45 percent believe churches should express opinions about political and social matters.
There was also a slight increase in those bothered by politicians’ discussing their religion.
