Meeting July 31-Aug. 2, the ELCA Board of Pensions trustees voted to continue wellness incentives for health plan sponsors into 2009.
In 2009 plan members can earn wellness dollars to apply to their medical costs when they take the Mayo Clinic Health Risk Assessment. They may earn additional dollars by follow-up health improvement activities. ELCA organizations and sponsoring employers within a group or synod may receive a 2 percent discount on health plan contributions when at least 75 percent of their plan members and spouses take the assessment.
