Twenty-one students of the Western Iowa Synod visited the Southern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania from July 21 to Aug. 13.
They worked on two service projects and visited area institutions.
Prior to the trip, some ELCA students raised funds for mosquito nets to help combat malaria in the nation.
Nets were purchased for Igumbilo Lutheran Girls’ Secondary School, which was started with a $25,000 donation from the synod, and Ilembula Lutheran Hospital.
