Ishmael Noko, Lutheran World Federation general secretary, asked Africa’s political leaders to more actively promote human security in Zimbabwe, as well as a “transition back to the democracy that the people of Zimbabwe have a right to expect.”

LWF President and ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark S. Hanson also wrote to heads of churches there to express the Lutheran communion’s solidarity and support for Zimbabweans as they cope with political and economic crisis.
