Thanks for HIV/AIDS bill

ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark S. Hanson praised members of Congress and President George W. Bush for signing global AIDS legislation ("ELCA presiding bishop applauds new global AIDS bill").

The 2008 Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde U.S. Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Reauthorization Act continues the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, which became law in 2003.

The new bill triples U.S. spending on lifesaving treatment to $48 billion over the next five years.
