Noko: Female bishops a blessing

Ishmael Noko, general secretary of the Lutheran World Federation, welcomed the (Anglican) Church of England’s decision to allow female bishops.

His July 21 statement noted that in the LWF women bishops were first elected in 1992, and it is “already clear that the leadership of women in all the roles of ordained ministry has been a blessing to those churches that have experienced it.”
