The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) lost more than 57,000 members last year, church leaders said in late June at a General Assembly in San Jose, Calif.
The 2.5 percent drop brings membership to 2.2 million.
PCUSA church rolls have declined every year since the denomination was formed in 1983.
Twelve PCUSA congregations joined other denominations in 2007, and 71 churches were dissolved.
