Grant to restore film

The ELCA Archives received a $7,900 grant from the National Film Preservation Foundation to preserve a documentary of a Luther League convention the former Augustana Synod held in Duluth, Minn., in 1949.

Christ Above All is one of the few color and sound films of a Luther League convention held before the 1960s.

Since travel restrictions due to the Depression and World War II were no longer in place, about 3,500 youth from 26 states, four Canadian provinces and 10 other nations were able to attend.
