In three different studies, researchers from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and a professor from the Harvard Business School, Cambridge, Mass., found that people can become significantly happier by giving others as little as $5.
Their research found that small changes in individuals’ spending allocations can make a difference in one’s well-being and that the effect isn’t dictated by the amount given but rather the relative percentage of their money that is spent on others.
