Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Va., initiated a phone card ministry to support ELCA chaplains in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Wollom A. Jensen, Messiah’s pastor and a retired Navy chaplain, asked for donations to purchase phone cards that chaplains may distribute to deployed sailors, Marines , soldiers, Air Force and Coast Guard personnel.
More than $1,000 was donated.
