• Heard that 2008 sales of Evangelical Lutheran Worship is about $3.4 million, down from a projected $5.5 million.
• Learned that net income for 2007 was $2.5 million, but the ELCA publisher had a net loss of $206,000 in the first three months of 2008. In that same period, overall sales were down $728,000, but operating expenses were $729,000 less than budgeted.
• Appointed a task force to address, with leaders of the ELCA churchwide organization, board members’ concerns about the ELCA publisher’s role in Book of Faith, an initiative on studying and sharing God’s word.
